Brief Festival Background

Established in 2009, The Leimert Park Village Group has produced The Annual Leimert Park Village African Arts and Music Festival every Labor Day Weekend in Historic Leimert Park Village. The Festival provides health/wellness, economic/business, arts/culture, literacy/education and leadership/mentorship, (H.E.A.L.L.), programs and activities for children, teens and adults at no cost to the public.

Our programs and partnerships with local organizations has helped us gain a loyal following of over 10,000 people that come from the around the US, Southern California region, with the greatest percentage traveling from across all 14 council districts in Los Angeles.

The unifying characteristic of our audience is their affinity for and passion about our Festival and their loyalty towards the companies that support our event. Therefore, we are very selective about our partnerships and seek to align with brands that are industry leaders with core values regarding gender, ethnic and financial parity and diversity in the workplace and that demonstrate community social responsibility.
