History

The Leimert Park Group is an emerging arts organization under the fiscal sponsorship of Five Points Youth Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) organization.   Founded in 2009, The Leimert Park Village Group was established to promote culture, commerce and community.

The signature event for the organization is The Annual Leimert Park Village African Arts & Music Festival that takes place over Labor Day WeekendThis Festival is the largest privately produced event in Leimert Park Village and the largest Labor Day Weekend Festival in Los Angeles.


OUR LOGO


Our logo is a West African adrinka symbol that means "BOA ME NA ME MMOA WO", and translates into "Help me and let me help you".  It symbolizes cooperation and interdependence.

We exists to present and partner with other organizations to bring programs and activities that focus on health/wellness, economics/business, arts/culture, literacy/education and leadership/mentor-ship to the greater Los Angeles area.
